Zetes and Calais are sons of the Northwind god Boreas. They were the sons of Boreas, known as the Boreads.
They were Argonauts known and depicted with wings. Both Zetes and Calais sailed on the Argo with Jason.
Not only did Jason, Zetes, and Calais Sail upon the Argo some of the greatest Greek heroes sailed on the Argo as well.
These heroes were said to include Heracles, Castor and Polydeuces, Atalanta, Meleager, and Orpheus. For better favor on their journey, they offered a sacrifice to the twin Greek god Apollo.
Their main objective was to retrieve the golden fleece. Zetes' father offered immortal life to Zetes and Calais as he offered his daughter the goddess, Khione, and for more than a millennium, they guarded the god of the palace of the North Wind.
Zetes and Calais have many siblings. Two of their siblings are female, Khione and Kleopatra.
Khione is also a child of Boreas, the north wind god, which makes her Zetes and Calais’ sister.
She was the goddess of snow on Mount Haimon. Most thought of her more as a nymph than a goddess. Poseidon loved her, and she had her son Eumolpus with him.
She feared her father's wrath so much so that she threw her very own child into the sea, where her lover Poseidon saved him.
She's had numerous potential lovers since she was very young and attractive, including two gods. Hermes took advantage and raped her.
Apollo waited for the late afternoon, then approached her disguised as an old woman. she became pregnant with twins, one Autolycus, Hermes ' son, and the other Philammon, Apollo's son.
Their Sister Kleopatra was married to Phineus, and with him, she had two sons. All their uncles were wind gods, some more known, others were lesser gods.
